Kilometre Music Group, headquartered in Canada, has expanded its catalog to include over 3,000 songs, nine of which rank among the 20 most-streamed tracks on Spotify. This acquisition, which features hits from artists such as The Weeknd, Post Malone, Drake, Dua Lipa, Chainsmokers, Halsey, and Travis Scott, brings Kilometre’s total investment in music rights close to $150 million.

The latest deal covers around 350 songs, including notable tracks like Drake’s Billboard Hot 100 No. 1 single "God’s Plan," as well as other Drake hits such as "Wants and Needs" featuring Lil Baby and "Laugh Now Cry Later" featuring Lil Durk. The acquisition also includes Travis Scott’s 2016 hit "Goosebumps," which has garnered over 3.3 billion streams on Spotify, alongside other Scott tracks like "Through the Late Night" featuring Kid Cudi and "Who? What?" from his Astroworld album.

Additionally, Cardo's collaborations with Kendrick Lamar—such as "euphoria," "Savior," and "Family Ties" with Baby Keem—are part of the deal, alongside other high-profile tracks like H.E.R.’s "Slide" and Don Toliver’s "Private Landing" featuring Justin Bieber and Future.

“Cardo is a prolific music producer who has shaped some of the most culturally impactful songs of the streaming era,” said Rodney Murphy, President of Kilometre. “We feel privileged to be a part of his life’s work.” CFO James Freeman added, “This acquisition further solidifies Kilometre’s position as a leading force in modern music publishing.”

Founded in 2021 by Michael McCarty and Rodney Murphy, Kilometre Music Group partnered with Barometer Capital Management Inc. to create the Barometer Global Music Royalty Fund. The fund focuses on building a premier catalog of high-quality music copyrights and royalty streams.

Earlier this year, Kilometre acquired stakes in Taylor Swift’s "Lavender Haze" and "Karma" from her Grammy-winning Midnights album. The firm also increased its ownership in The Weeknd’s major hits, including "Blinding Lights," "Save Your Tears," and "Earned It," adding his third-most streamed song, "Starboy," to its growing portfolio.

With a $50 million credit facility secured through Pinnacle Financial Partners, Kilometre’s investment in music rights now approaches $150 million. As Cardo noted, “Thanks to Kilometre, I can buy a spaceship now.”
