The I Am Hip Hop award, recognizing artists who have made substantial cultural and creative contributions to the genre, will be awarded to Travis Scott at the 2024 BET Hip-Hop Awards. This honor places Scott among an esteemed group of past recipients, including LL COOL J, Lil Wayne, Rakim, and Snoop Dogg. In addition to receiving the I Am Hip Hop award, Scott is nominated in six categories, including Best Live Performer, Best Hip-Hop Video for "Type Sh*t" with Future, Metro Boomin, and Playboi Carti, and Best Collaboration for "At the Party" with Kid Cudi and Pharrell Williams.

The 2024 BET Hip-Hop Awards will be hosted by Fat Joe for the third consecutive year and, for the first time, will be held in Las Vegas. Top nominees for the event include Megan Thee Stallion, Kendrick Lamar, and Drake. The awards ceremony will air on BET on Tuesday, October 15, 2024, at 8 p.m. ET/PT.
