Rihanna's been dangling new music in front of her fans for almost a decade now. The 'Umbrella' singer has been consistently hinting at it but never really said when. A new story by UK publication The Sun, though, might signal the high-waited comeback is finally around the corner. According to the report, Rihanna is readying her new album, and she's plotting a world tour to coincide with it in 2025.

The claims have been made by The Sun journalist Jason Hardwick, who told how he had knowledge from inside Rihanna's camp. He penned: "Rihanna's ninth album is finally on the cusp of being released," suggesting her return could also include a mega world tour in 2025 that may prove to be one of the biggest comebacks in musical history. There is also a rumor that Rihanna might top the bill at Glastonbury the year following her tour.

Reports first emerged that Rihanna would headline the iconic festival in 2023, but her second pregnancy saw a change in plans. According to Hardwick, Rihanna is now back in the running to be among the headliners for Glastonbury in 2025. As much as these reports come with positively high anticipation, Rihanna has characteristically been tight-lipped on the rollout for her new album.

In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Rihanna mentioned that it took her a while to get back into the studio, referring to music as "a new discovery," which really proves that she is ready to dive back into creating.

All the hype over studio time with her was dampened a bit in June when Rihanna announced she was scrapping the album to start fresh and perfect her previous recordings. She said, "I'm starting over, but I don't want to waste the songs I already have." Rihanna wanted to reapproach her work from a different angle.

With ASAP Rocky making his comeback this August, the fans are hoping for Rihanna's comeback around the same time.
