In the music video for "On Up," Detroit rapper Big Sean gives a nod to Eminem. At its core, the video is an ode to family and his hometown, featuring a subtle but powerful tribute to the iconic rapper.

In one shot, Big Sean wears a Detroit Lions varsity jacket to represent his hometown, and in another shot from the front row, he is wearing an Eminem T-shirt. That was no less than very purposeful as an homage to Eminem, who helped set the course for Big Sean's career. Adding homage to that, Big Sean does a neat rhyme between "remnants" and "imminent" in that scene, enhancing the visual with depth through the lyrics.

Big Sean is known to have huge regard for Eminem through the Detroit rap circuit. Their latest song, "Tobey," is taken from Eminem's The Death of Slim Shady [Coup De Grâce] and released as the second single from the album. This music video is one more reason that proves Big Sean's admiration and recognition of Eminem for his effects on his musical journey. As we previously discussed, Em's latest album has already garnered over 700 million streams on Spotify in just a few weeks. The Big Sean, BabyTron assisted "Tobey" is the highest streamed non-single track on the album with 55 million streams to date on Spotify.

Investing In Big Sean & Eminem Music

Royalty Exchange is known as the leading platform for investors interested in earning from music royalties. In May 2024, Eminem’s "Hustlers & Hardcore" sound recording royalties was sold for $56,000, or 4.38 times its revenue from the last 12 months.

The catalog has earned $16,144 since 2021, and has a dollar age of 25.03 years. A higher Dollar Age is typically indicative of more stable earnings, as older songs tend to have more predictable royalty streams and could suggest that the substantial growth in earnings could potentially stabilize in the future.

The catalog earned $13,399 in 2023, up from only $178.82 in 2021. That’s a 74 times growth in just two years.

Much of the earnings come from streaming activities from international sources with $8,786 in the last 12 months.

Spotify is the top music source among users in terms of earnings with $12,663 in the last 12 months. It has more than 13 million streams on the platform.

With Eminem now back in the top spot on the rap charts, it’s clear that music royalty investors will be earning more from the heavy streaming that his past tracks are generating on Spotify and other platforms.

There's also Big Sean catalogs available to invest in right now as well. This listing featuring music from Big Sean, grouptherapy, Rejjie Snow, and Snoh Aalegra has been generating between $5.5k and $10.6k the past 4 years and is continuing to earn revenue super consistently. A huge contributor of revenue from this catalg is from streaming, and it's no surprise as the top song in the catalog "I Want You Around" by Snoh Aalegra has over 157 million streams on Spotify alone.
