The internet has been abuzz with rumors that Bruno Mars is close to making a return to the scene with some new material. The speculation is over as Bruno and Lady Gaga confirmed today that their new collaboration called "Die With A Smile" is set to release on August 16th. Bruno hasn't released any new music since the Anderson .Paak assisted Silk Sonic project in 2021. Gaga on the other hand only has some sporadic live releases and most recently the Top Gun Maverick single "Hold My Hand" from 2022. The word on the streets about this collaboration seems to have reignited interest in Mars' catalog, effectively putting his chart-toppers back on the Billboard charts.

Bruno Mars this week has a major comeback in not one, but both of the Billboard global charts, thanks to his old hits making a revival. "When I Was Your Man" lands on both Billboard Global 200 and the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. The former is about the most consumed songs in the world, while the latter excludes only American streaming and sales data.

On the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart, "When I Was Your Man" re-enters at No. 104, which is mid-chart. On the Billboard Global 200, it also reappearance, at No. 131. Another of Mars' big hits, "Locked Out of Heaven," returns to the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. chart, at No. 190, barely making the 200-spot list.

Throughout his career, as the life of these international charts has unfolded, Mars has placed a dozen tracks on the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. and 15 on the Billboard Global 200. Most of those charting titles come from his work with the Silk Sonic project alongside Anderson .Paak, that came out with a very successful album. Much of Mars' solo work was, however, released before these charts existed; therefore, his biggest hits topped other Billboard charts, rather than these global charts.

On top of album and single sales, his entire global catalog is up 6% in the past week according to Luminate data. Averaging around 20 million global streams per day on solo work and 2 million global streams per day on Silk Sonic songs, Bruno is a streaming juggernaut. While fans are looking forward to the new release, enduring appeal is clear in that his music does strike a chord with people around the world.
