A memorable musical performance by some of the most influential artists in Los Angeles is going to close out the Paris 2024 Olympics.

Per Variety, the Closing Ceremony will take place on August 11th with three cultural icons: Billie Eilish, Snoop Dogg, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Each artist is going to offer a different representation of the city's musical heritage onto the global stage.

The event will feature pre-recorded and live performances from Los Angeles, marking the handover to the 2028 Olympic Games, which will also take place in the city. Born in Highland Park, Billie Eilish has risen to rapid prominence as one of the defining voices of her generation. Her debut album, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? not only hit number one on the Billboard 200 but also made her the youngest artist to have swept all four major Grammy categories in one year.

Eilish's connection to Los Angeles runs deep—it's a fact well-documented, especially in her 2021 concert film Happier Than Ever: A Love Letter to Los Angeles.

Snoop Dogg has seemed to be everywhere at the Paris Games—many have called him the biggest legend of West Coast rap. In addition to doing some very amazing commentary work for NBC, he carried the flame for the United States at the Olympics. For weeks, Snoop embodied the spirit of L.A. on the global stage. With a three-decade-long career, his influence goes way beyond music into acting, entrepreneurship, and even cooking shows with Martha Stewart.

The Red Hot Chili Peppers will be the final addition to the lineup of musical acts, having been founded in Los Angeles in 1983. One of the most locally established bands around Los Angeles, they had huge hits like "Californication" and "Can't Stop" that both dominated the Billboard charts. Their classic hits "Under the Bridge" and "Scar Tissue" are evergreen records that are still listened to heavily today.

This bill of Los Angeles talent not only celebrates the artistic legacy of the city but sets it up as host for the 2028 Olympics.

Snoop's Music Is Reaching Larger Audiences

Like we discussed last week during Snoop's grand entrance onto the Olympics stage, his streaming numbers and music sales have gone up across the board. This should come as no surprise considering the hundreds of millions that he's in front of every day right now across the globe. His weekly US streams are up 5.7% in the past 3 weeks and his global digital track sales are up a staggering 52.6% in 2 weeks. His weekly global streams are up 9.1% in the past 3 weeks as well. On top of the early boost in streaming and sales consumption, his social followers are up across the board as well. Since the 2024 Summer Olympics started, Snoop has been averaging 140k new followers per day on Instagram much higher than his daily average of 25.2k followers per day.

You can take advantage of this boost in social and streaming consumption by investing in some of Snoop's classic songs today. On Royalty Exchange, investors can purchase music catalogs from some of the biggest artists and songs in the world and earn revenue from them. Check out this live listing featuring one of Snoop's biggest hits with Wiz Khalifa available today. As we've seen in the past from musicians taking part in television broadcasts such as Usher's Super Bowl performance, historically these type of events always boost streaming numbers, sales, and overall earnings for future pay periods. Purchasing a music catalog of Snoop's generational hits is a solid alternative investment that will generate passive income for life, and will likely see growth in the next few years leading up to the LA 2028 Olympics.
